Math HW Set #3

This week we continued our study of Integers and there were 3 assignments due:

1) Number Jumps worksheet
2) Success Project rough draft
3) Adding/Subtracting Integers

I was absent on Friday so students had a chance to review some number theory concepts. Also, over the weekend they could complete some designs for 2 extra credit points. Most importantly students were reminded to work on their projects (see previous post) which are worth 100 points.

Math Project Due September 28th

This week in Math class students took their Number Theory quiz and began studying integers. Their quiz should be returned on Monday (or Tuesday) of next week. This was a rare week because no written HW assignments were given.

The 1st Advisory Success Project was given to students today and they were asked to brainstorm design ideas over the weekend. In the middle of next week I will ask for a rough draft (on paper) just to make sure all the students are making progress. The real projects need to be completed on a poster (14" x 22" or 22"x 28"). Please encourage students to put their best effort into the project because their poster will represent who they are.

Math HW Set #2

We had a slower week because of the Holiday and DCBAS testing. There were only two assignments due:

1) Prime Factorization Worksheet
2) Greatest Common Factor

On Friday I gave the students a list of Math Websites and asked them to look at 2 of them over the weekend. These websites have great games, practice problems, and instructional videos for all the concepts we are learning this year.

Math HW Set #1

Over the first two weeks of school we have done some introductory work in math.  I have checked the following five assignments:

1) Pink Management Form
2) Math Supplies (composition book, binder/folder, 2 pencils, and graph paper)
3) "Order of Operations" handout
4) Factor Pyramids
5) "Divisibility Rules" handout

Students will have this holiday weekend to make up any missing HW for partial credit.  After this weekend I will not accept any late work for HW Set #1.

Welcome To Our Blog!

The 7th Grade team is in the process of updating the blog to add all of our new teachers and to include the website links to individual subjects.  The purpose of this blog is to update parents about activities, field trips, projects, and homework going on in the 7th grade.  We do not want to take away the responsibility of your student to keep you informed of these events but we want to give you an opportunity to check in and check up on how they are doing.

We look forward to a great year in working together to educate our students,

The 7th Grade Team
