Math HW 5/24/10 to 5/28/10 and Equations Test

This week students finished their unit on Equations and will have a unit test when they return from Memorial Day. Homework given this week was:

1) Page 123 (23-26, 45-46)
2) Page 805 (1-8)
Weekend --> Create a page of Study Notes that will be used on the Unit Test.
Concepts include Distributive Property, Combine Like Terms, and Solving Equations (1 & 2 Step).

Please help your student to review these ideas and create a good page of study notes (Definitions, Procedures, and Problems are helpful).

Algebra Math HW and Test

The past few weeks grade 7 Algebra students have finished their chapter on Equations.
Recent HW includes:
Pg 131 (1-21)
Pg 136 (1-22)
Pg 142 (1-14)
Pg 147 (1-21)
Pg 151 (1-8, 12-33)
Pg 151 (34-51) and Chapter 3 "Need to Know" handout.

Students should spend the weekend studying for their Chapter 3 unit Test on Tuesday.

Math HW 5/17/10 to 5/21/10

This week students continued their study of equations and re-took their quiz on Friday. We also started solving "two step equations" in class and in the homework. Three assignments were checked:

1) Page 804 (20-35)
2) Page 122 (1-7)
3) Page 123 (8-20)
Weekend: Make up any missing HW from last week.

Remember that I put my initials on students HW when it is turned in. You can check to see if your child has received credit for these three assignments.

Math HW 5/10/10 to 5/14/10

Students were preparing for their Equations Quiz this week and had two assignments:

1) Page 109 (11-24)
2) Page 110 (25-39)
Weekend: Page 804 (20 - 35)

Students should get their quiz back early next week. Please see how your child did and offer to review any questions they missed. "Distributive Property" can be found on pages 71-72 and "combine like terms" (or simplifying expressions) can be found on pages 78-79. We will finish our equations unit soon and have an Equations test in two weeks.

2) Page 93 (1-10, 63-64)
3) Page 99 (1-15)

Students are required to write the original equation and show their work on the HW.

We have been studying Equations in chapter 3 and will have a quiz tomorrow. The HW in Chapter 3 so far has been:
