Due Next Week....

Okay....The following assignments are due March 15, 2010.

  • F.L.I.P Book - Using a topic of their choice, students will construct a book that contains functional text, literary text, informational text, and persuasive text.  All 4 text types have to be on the same topic, but can stand alone on their own.  Originality, content, and creativity are all considered.
  • Vocabulary Quiz - Students are to create a vocabulary quiz for Unit 9, Vocabulary Workshop book.  A classmate will take your quiz and you will take their quiz, and so on, and so on, etc. NOTE: If you DO NOT create a quiz for someone to complete, you will not be allowed to complete a quiz.  As a result, you will receive a Zero for the quiz, and a Zero for not completing the homework assignment.

Math HW 3/2/10 to 3/5/10

This week students were reviewing for their Ratio Unit Test (which was given on Friday). The HW was:

1) Page 315 (1-6, 11-14, 29-30)
2) Page 318 (1-35) Odd Only "Chapter 6 Review"
3) Ratio Study Guide --> could be used on the test

Those students who prepared their study guides said the test was easy and they did not even have to look at during the test. The test will be graded and handed back sometime next week. Remember that "Test Corrections" should be completed to improve learning (and test grades).

Make-Up Assignments

Parents,

Because of the snow, many students have gotten off track and have not completed assignments.  I am allowing students to makeup any missed assignments by March 5, 2010.  I am giving all students an assignment summary that tells them the assignments they have not completed yet.  It is their responsibility to find out details of the assignment by referencing their planners, their notebooks, or a classmate.  Of course, points will be deducted for late assignments.

Homework - Due 2/8/2010

Parents,

Your child has plenty to keep them occupied during these snow days.

All essays must follow MLA guidelines for essay writing, 12 point Times New Roman font, Black Ink, NO COVER PAGE.  All essays must be typed.  If students are unable to print essays, feel free to email essays to me at jannl.henry@gmail.com.
